Yonkers Man Wins $2.9M Jackpot After 30 Years

The odds of winning the lottery is so small that a man has to be extremely lucky to win a jackpot, even after having played the lottery for thirty years.  Such is the case when a 79 year old man named Iglesias won $2.9 million jackpot from the New York Lottery.

Iglesias whose quick pick ticket matched all six numbers drawn on the July 13 draw, was surprised when the ticket machine declared him a big winner.  But even through his excitement he still remembered to sign the back of the ticket at once.

The winner’s simple goal is to help his family, so that they will not have as hard a life as he did.  Iglesias later opted for a single payment that would give him $1,183,521 after taxes.

One may describe his win as patience rewarded.
