Stealing lottery tickets is not a very wise practice in the first place.
If for no other reason than the lottery company track tickets from door to door, and know exactly which stores has which batches of tickets.
So if any get stolen, they are flagged as such, and Lottery HQ knows the moment anyone tries to scan or make a claim using one of them.
Making the second particularly unwise practice being to try and make a claim using a stolen ticket. As this guy did, when he tried to cash one of $900 worth of tickets stolen the night before!
So now the lottery company and police have a nice clear photo of the man (suspect!) from CCTV, and are asking for public help to provide a name to go with the photo.
