In China, people cannot purchase tickets online yet. But that has not stopped enterprising Hong-Kong based lottery technology supplier AGTech Holdings from looking for a way to expand the scratch ticket market. Their solution is to partner with SF Express Co. Ltd., a leading courier delivery company.
Under the scheme, lottery players who are receiving packages through SF Express may purchase instant tickets from the delivery courier. Customers can also order instant tickets in bulk, which will then be delivered straight to their doorstep. But that only covers the convenience of purchasing tickets. The service upgrade also allows customers to redeem prizes via the SF Financial app. This saves them a trip to lottery headquarters.
There is a huge market for scratch tickets in China, which sold $4.2 billion worth in 2016. With the added convenience, lottery officials expect sales to soar even higher.
