A construction worker has got to be fit; perhaps that is why Kevin Buchanan hit the gym Christmas morning. But after getting his workout, Buchanan decided to buy a few scratch-off tickets with the view of improving his financial health as well.
After his first two scratchers turned out to be duds, he bought a $20 “Hit $5,000,000” ticket hoping to recover the money he lost on the first two. But the third ticket proved to be lucky – it won him the top prize of $5,000,000. He later chose to receive a one time payment of $3.2 million net of taxes.
The winner plans to pay off some bills, buy a Cadillac Escalade and a house. But other than that, he wants little else to change and will not even consider retiring.
