$1 Million Lotto Max Prize Claimed Just In Time

Gizella Tasnadi and Bruce Swanston of Grande Prairie had just claimed their jackpot prize of $1 million nearly a year after the draw date.  But it was not a long wait for them, as they have just found out they were winners.

You can consider the two friends, who have been betting together for awhile, to be doubly lucky as the Canadian Lottery allows one year for claims, and they were able to claim before the expiration date.

Gizella checked old tickets after Lottery officials made a desperate plea for people to their tickets for the unclaimed million dollar jackpot, then informed Bruce.

Unclaimed prizes are not that uncommon, with the biggest unclaimed prize being a $14.9-million jackpot from a Lotto 6/49 draw in 2006.
