Michael Duthie, had admitted to having received £13,000 in benefits in 2010 after having won £250000 in the lottery in 2010, earlier. He managed to obtain the benefits after failing to declare the lottery windfall.
An anonymous tip, however, alerted authorities who launched an investigation. Lawyers for Mr. Douthie, claims that their client has repaid the contested benefits. Sentencing has been deferred.
