We can confirm Friday night’s $319 Million Mega Millions jackpot has been won.

A single ticket claimed the whole prize. And it was bought from Coulson’s News in Albany, New York.

It was also a quick pick ticket, so once again a quick pick claims a big prize despite what some ‘experts’ claim about picking numbers.

The group have yet to come forward officially, so the lottery company cannot confirm the winners. But the news is already out.

An office based syndicate of 7 workers have just become very wealthy. They all work for the IT department of the Department of Homes and Community Renewal (DHCR) in Albany. No further details are yet known about the lucky 7.

The owner of Coulson’s News, Steve Hutchins, 63, was away skiing in Vermont when he discovered his store had sold the winning ticket. His son eventually managed to reach him after numerous attempts:

“I was on a ski lift, and he said, ‘You haven’t heard?’ and I said, ‘What should I have heard?’

He also received a call from a friend in Florida who heard it on the national news and calls from Lottery officials.

“It’s a neat feeling to know that someone who comes in here is getting a lot of money”.

A hastily hand-written sign on the door now greets customers at Coulson’s, announcing the huge $319 million winner was bought here.

If the syndicate of 7 opt for the lump sum payment they will receive $202.9 Million after taxes are paid, or just under $29 Million each.

The winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday 25th March were 22, 24, 31, 52, 54 with a Mega ball of 4.
