Most of us are familiar with the term “beginner’s luck” but one Chicago woman took the luck part to a whole new level. La Ongkwan Pinyapap won a top lottery prize on the very first lottery ticket she has ever bought!
The woman was at the BP gas station on W. Fullerton Ave. in the city’s Bucktown neighborhood when her friend bought a ticket. That set her thinking of trying her luck on one too, even if she has never played any lottery game before. She chose a $5 25X The Money ticket, which she promptly took home.
To her great surprise, when she scratched the ticket, the top prize of $250,000 was revealed. She has no clear plans for the money as yet but has said she will share with family. The lotto outlet which sold the winning ticket will receive a bonus of $2,500.
