There is just something awfully wrong with a 73-year old man having to work as a cab driver just to make ends meet. Now Kilbride pensioner and taxi driver Arthur Howard has the lottery to thank for getting him out of his financial rut.
Howard had his tickets checked and even called up the lottery to verify the win. His first line gave him £2.50 and the third line put another £5.70 in his pocket. But it was the fifth line which won a huge £1 million in the raffle draw. Champagne flowed shortly after.
Howard did not waste time in serving notice to his employer and now looks forward to a comfortable retirement.
