Lottery Ticket Given As A Gift Wins $1 Million

Edward Lambright thought a lottery ticket would make a nice early Easter present for his girlfriend.  So he bought her a $5 Cash Deluxe scratch-off ticket at the Hannaford on State Highway 28 in Oneonta.  It turns out he was right.

Upon scratching, Jessica McLean realized she had hit the million dollar jackpot.  Being at work at a Super 8 motel at the time, she immediately signed the back of the ticket and kept it in the hotel lock box.

Since then, McLean has decided to accept the prize in a one time payment of $516,204 net of all taxes.  She is still figuring out what to do with the money, but thinks some of it will pay bills, and the rest will go into savings.
