All people are only too happy to win the lottery, but most people dream of something they would buy for themselves first. Nedrata Carter is different; the first thing she did after winning $10,000 was to look for a homeless shelter to help.
After learning that the Newgate homeless shelter at Mobberly needed food and hygiene products most, she went shopping. She left something for herself though, thinking her car needs a bit of work so she can continue driving to the shelter to help. Carter says she does not like to see people hungry.
She says she will play the Powerball and will build a new shelter should she win the billion dollar prize.
