Lotto Winner Saves Village Christmas Tree

Sometimes lottery winners come to the aid of people in distress, usually one at a time.  This time a lottery winner who won £4.8 million in 2011 helped an entire village celebrate Christmas.

The festive tree at the Great Coates was in danger of not being switched on for lack of funds to secure necessary public liability insurance.  When Euromillions winner Sue Mullen and her husband Lee heard about it, they immediately came to the rescue and assumed the cost of insurance.

They responded just in time to ensure the village gets to celebrate Christmas as they always have; with their festive Fir tree all lit up.
