Two people in Iowa have won a million dollars each. Betty Downs, a retiree won her million from the Mega Millions draw of 10th November. She found it hard to believe her luck when she used the ticket machine and had to ask the clerk to verify it. In Friday’s draw, Mike Hartman, a marine veteran who runs his own business, also won a million dollars.
Downs wants to use her winnings to pay off bills and help a great-granddaughter with school expenses. Hartman, on the other hand, wants to start his retirement fund.
