Not as well-reported as other lotteries is the Superlotto which operates in the Caribbean territories of Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Barbados, St Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, St Maarten and the US Virgin Islands. However, it prizes can accumulate to huge amounts as Vincent Haynes of Barbados can attest. Haynes just claimed a J$173 million jackpot from the Barbados Lottery last Wednesday, 15th January.
The lucky man bought his winning ticket from 3K’s inised the Super Centre at Holetown, in the parish of St James in Barbados. Haynes further shares that it was his habit to buy lottery tickets and just leave them in the car. His wife would usually check them for him. This time, however, Haynes decided to check the results himself and discovered the big win.
His immediate plans include building a new house.
