Occasional Player From Canberra Wins $35 Million Jackpot

A Canberra woman almost lost out on a big payday – good thing her brother, a regular lotto player, advised her to buy tickets as the rollover prize has become huge.

The unnamed woman says that she was stunned to learn later that she had won the $35 million Powerball jackpot off a 50-game quick pick she purchased from the Thistle Kiosk Lotto in Woden.  She says her priorities include paying off bills and helping out family, including the brother who advised her to buy tickets.  She also plans to take time off work to travel.
