When Shreeve scratched off the Virginia Lottery’s Golden Spades ticket it revealed a $1 million prize. At first they thought it must be fake or a prank or something; but everything checked out. The couple decided to receive the prize as a single payment of $561,798 before taxes. The happy parents revealed that the money goes to their 5-month old daughter’s college fund.
