When a Powerball player from Smyth County, Virginia found one of his tickets had matched four white balls and the Powervall in the Feb. 03 draw, he thought he had won $50,000; he was wrong.
When Ernest Jones went to the Virginia Lottery to make his claim, the found that the amount he had won is actually $150,000. In his excitement he must have forgotten that he paid an extra dollar for the power play option which multiplied his prize by 3.
