The 20 members of the Quaker Oats lottery syndicate that won the $241 Million Powerball jackpot has been revealed.
They originally resisted publicity, and it was thought they were going to seek a legal injunction to prevent their names being released.
But nothing has been forthcoming from their legal representatives, so the Iowa lottery have now released the full list of names of the 20 winners.
I think all lottery winners should be entitled to choose privacy. This is an option in many countries, and does not appear to affect public trust of the lottery draws – which the reason most commonly given by lottery companies for insisting on revealing winners identities.
