16 retirement home workers winIn another proof that joining betting syndicates greatly increase winning chances, a group of sixteen retirement home employees have just bagged a $1 million prize.  The group, who have been dubbed “sweet sixteen,” are all employees of Edinburgh Hall at Parkland Estates retirement home in Truro.

Split equally 16 ways, each member stands to receive $62,500 – good for an early and hefty Christmas bonus or to jump start their own retirement funds.  But it seems the winners have different plans for the money.  Some will pay off debts and mortgages, one will replace a clunker of a car, and one plans to pay off student loans.  Only one thing is common – their Christmas will be quite a bit more cheery this year.
