A Powerball jackpot that had snowballed after 15 draws without a winner was finally won in Wednesday’s draw.  A single ticket sold at a Chevron station in Milpitas snagged the huge $425 million jackpot.  It is the sixth largest jackpot in the history of the US lottery.  The full amount can be paid in 30 equal yearly payments or, if the winner wants all of it now, through a single payment of $242.2 million

There is no word yet on the identity of the winner.  Powerball jackpots have grown due in large part to an increase in ticket prizes from $1 to $2.
