A grandmother from Frederick County has just won big. Marie, who asked that her full name not be published, won the top prize in the Cash4Life game.
When the scanner asked her to take the ticket to lottery headquarters, she asked for a printout and quietly went home. Given a choice of receiving $1000 a day for life or $7 million in a single cash payment, she chose the cash option. She will take home about $4.2 million after the taxman takes his cut. The Weiss Market where the winning ticket was bought earned a $7,500 bonus.
