It is a good thing that a group of 17 quilters who have been “investing” on lottery tickets for almost eight years were not quitters; they finally received some much awaited return on investment.
The quilters each won about $2500 after taxes from a $5 Cash Deluxe scratch-off lottery ticket. Though not exactly the stuff of legends, the win still is a handsome return on the $2 a week each of them have been contributing for lottery tickets in nearly eight years.
