Health Lottery Pays Its Millionth Winner

Less than two years since the start of its operations in October of 2011, the Health Lottery has already paid out a total of £58million in prize money.  This early, it has recorded its millionth winner from its area of operations that include England, Scotland and Wales.

In addition to paying winners, the Education Lottery has raised more than £36million to fund over 600 projects that deal with issues related to health and inequality.  Among the most notable beneficiaries are Mencap, Youth Sports Trust and Dementia UK.

While the price for a ticket for the National Lottery has increased to £2, the Health Lottery has maintained its ticket prices at £1.
