A Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, a suburb of Tampa, is set to receive a hefty sum for selling the one ticket that won a huge $590.5 payout from the Powerball lottery. This is now the new record for Powerball jackpots that once stood at $587.5 million.
Lottery officials claim that even against astronomical odds of 175 million to one, more bettors are willing to shell out the $2 that gives them a shot at a large jackpot.
