Italian Court Orders Lottery To Pay Jackpot Won By Torn Ticket

Normally damaged lottery tickets are deemed void, so a man who sued to claim  a 100,000 euros ($130,590) prize using a ticket torn in half would be expected to lose.

Surprisingly, an Italian court ruled that the lottery needs to pay the estate of the man, who has since died, the full jackpot amount.
