The Christmas Cheer Board in Winnipeg runs a campaign at this time every year to deliver Christmas Hampers to the needy.

But this year the news reports revealed the board had run very short on funds, and been left with a significant debt.

So it warms the heart to hear that former lottery winners Kirby and Marie Fontaine immediately stepped up and donated $50,000.

The Fontaine’s collected a jackpot of $50 Million on the Canad Lotto 6/49 back in 2009.

Director of the board, Kai Madsen, said he was thrilled the couple had even turned up in person so he could shake their hands and thank them for their much needed donation.
