Lottery payouts are huge because you have to buck astronomical odds to win big.  Some unlucky people go through their whole life betting on lottery draws and not winning anything substantial.

The still unidentified Florida winner of a record $590.5 milion Powerball jackpot has to claim his or her prize from the offices of the Florida Lottery. 

There were a total of 33 second prize winners during the recent  record breaking Powerball draw, and two of them are from California.  Each of them stand to receive the sum of $2,309,228 before taxes; a very nice return on a $2 investment.

Maryjane, who works as a convenience store clerk and pharmacy technician, wanted to join the lottery fever that gripped the US in the week leading to the recent $590.5 million Powerball jackpot so she sold herself a ticket.

An as yet unidentified woman from Zephyrhills, Florida is believed to have come forward to claim the record-setting $590.5 million Powerball jackpot.  It has not been revealed if the lucky woman placed her bets alone, or as part of a group. 

Robert Kincaid was one of sixteen people in the US and the only one in his state to win a million dollars for matching all six numbers except the Powerball, in Saturday’s Powerball Lottery draw.

A Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, a suburb of Tampa, is set to receive a hefty sum for selling the one ticket that won a huge $590.5 payout from the Powerball lottery. 

With about 80% of all possible number combinations for the Powerball Lottery in play, it was almost certain that someone will win the jackpot earlier estimated at $600 million. 

The Illinois Lottery confirmed that, due to a human error, it had issued 8 checks worth a total of $9,940 to winners.  One person failed to approve payments of the winning checks on time, so the bank did not release payment.

Though his wife told him that buying lottery tickets is just a waste of money, Raymond Lillington of Dingwall, Nova Scotia kept buying tickets for forty years without any majors wins to show for it.
