The syndicate of 26 WVU employees have been playing the lottery for 20 years without a major win. That may be why none of them believed syndicate leader Sheila Anderson when she announced that they had won $1 million.
The truth is that they were indeed winners after a series of numbers one member took from a fortune cookie matched 5 numbers, although unfortunately not the Mega Ball this time. The members did however thank Anderson for keeping the syndicate going for so long. After all, it has now resulted in each of them getting about $26,300 net of taxes.
The group says they plan to keep playing!
