A bachelor who still lives with his elderly parents has won a £1 million jackpot from the lottery.  Paul Cole of Bartley Green learned of his win after receiving an email from the National Lottery, which he originally thought was a practical joke. 

When one wins a million dollar lottery prize, you would normally expect excitement would drive them to make a claim within a month of the draw at most. 

There have been quite a few big winners in the past week including a grandma who won a $50 million Lotto Max jackpot and a hospital orderly who bagged $20 million playing Mega Millions. 

Keith Birtles from Southport felt that a few numbers were “lucky” so he followed his hunch and purchased a Euromillions ticket using those numbers.  His hunch proved right because when he next checked the results he found himself £50,904.30 richer.

A Long Island hospital orderly named Cameron Finney had his life changed after investing $4 in quick pick Mega Millions tickets.  Each dollar returned 5 million as one of the lines on the ticket won a $20 million jackpot.

Retired railroad worker Jeremiah Faith has won $10, 002 on April 26 form a Match 4 ticket he had purchased at Kennewick Yoke’s.  Some might say that is normal and the win may be just a little above average, before learning that it was Faith’s fifth significant win since 2010!

Surprise marked the faces of people lining up for National Lottery tickets at Browns Newsagent, in the Cardonald area of Glasgow as horns blared, drums sounded, and confetti flew as a flash mob with a full Samba band walked in. 

Terry Vigus had dreamt of winning the lottery, which would have made him feel excited.  But not as excited as he was three weeks later, on the 10th of May, when he  and his wife Linda actually won £1,171,812 of the £3.5 million jackpot. 

A 63-year old mother of two just had a Mother’s Day weekend she will remember for the rest of her life.  Sophie Rizavas of North York won $50 million from the Lotto Max on the Friday just before Mother’s Day.
