A 50-year-old man named Bill Graham has decided to retire after winning a $5 lottery prize.  And to make the win even sweeter, the Missouri Lottery revealed the Bill Graham is the first player to snag the top prize on the “$5 Million Jackpot” scratch-off game, that only began selling on August 5.

Recent statistics have revealed the five countries that have won the most Euromillions jackpots out of the total of nine participating countries.  Surprisingly the UK does not land the very top spot. 

Daniel Bosman from Forestville has won a $64,500 prize from a $1 Badger 5 lottery ticket.  Also named a winner on the same draw is Terry Brust of Cushing, who purchased his ticket from a Cenex store at a town named Luck.

Many people who come into money the easy way, such as lottery winners, famous actors or star sportsmen, are  sometimes overwhelmed by their sudden change in financial status. 

Xuan Ngo Thu, a Vietnamese immigrant and resident of  Crest Hill, only buys lottery tickets occasionally.  He normally buys $1 and $2 Quick Pick tickets whenever he fills up at a gas station. 

Janette Robertson has worked in Hampton’s newsagents for eighteen years and was planning to retire later this year.  A totally unexpected win of £1 million in the July 26 EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle has caused her to reconsider her planned retirement; she is moving it forward and considers her windfall as the perfect retirement present.

Melissa Forney of Coatesville has been charged with theft after being accused of stealing lottery tickets valued at $13,200, and cashing in the winning tickets at various locations.
