The February 19 draw of the Powerball lottery produced one winning ticket for the $425 million jackpot prize.  But the winner of that draw has just now come out to claim his prize, more than a month after the win.

Tina Ferrone knew what she wanted to do should she ever win the lottery – open a yoga studio.  Yet she seldom bought lottery tickets.  But that did not stop her from posting a big win. 

A few months ago, Tom Crist from Calgary won a $40 million lottery jackpot and promptly declared that he wishes to give away his winnings.  People were surprised but some were skeptical.

A Clay County woman won a custom motorcycle at the Iowa Lottery’s special promotion which was meant to benefit the state’s veterans.

For the “Veterans Victory” draw on Thursday, a Victory Boardwalk motorcycle from the Victory Motorcycles In Spirit Lake was custom painted by well-known Iowa artist Ray “Bubba” Sorensen II for the major prize. 

Harvey J. Costlow buys lottery tickets and sometimes forgets about them.  Such was the case with a ticket he bought from Stinker Store on the corner of Ustick and Cleveland in Caldwell – it ended up gathering dust on a coffee table at his garage.
