A syndicate composed of family members  from Co Kildare won a €500,000 jackpot from the Euromillions Lottery’s October 25 draw.  The family, who do not wish to be identified, bought the winning ticket at a shop in Athy.

Nothing, it seems, can keep Ron Elliot from his job caring for vulnerable elderly people – not even a huge lottery win.

He had bought a Lucky Dip ticket at a news agent’s on the way to work Saturday.
